I've read some 1 star reviews and unfortunately some people just need help with basic items. To remove the bezel, start by simply sliding it up (or down, depending on how it's oriented). There are three slots into which the faceplate is inserted and immediately removed. If you need to tear it off to take it off. Yes it will break! Second, the battery is easily accessible when the panel is removed, and that's not uncommon - just google it or search here at Revain.
