I have an injury that is preventing my fingers/wrist from working; My fingers are clenched into a fist, my wrist is crooked, and my hand wants to bend and bend at the elbow (imagine someone holding their style) - this is great called a "punch hand". Aside from destroying flexibility, it can be painful, especially when I'm sleeping with my hand clenched into a fist. My physical therapist made me this version, but it's heavy and very uncomfortable as it's plastic - even with small vents, it takes less than 20 minutes for my hand to start sweating. Not to mention how ugly and obnoxious it is! It's such a huge improvement that when I discovered it I can't believe I didn't buy it with overnight delivery. It has enough stiffness in its hand grip that I don't feel like crushing it in my sleep, but my therapist was still able to adjust the grip (with more experience and some effort, it's not something you'll accidentally do). It's very lightweight, comparable to the wrist splint you buy at the drugstore (but is lightweight to help keep your arm straight rather than flexed), and has a silk-coated forearm pad that protects my sallow, does not irritate sensitive skin. Looks very professional and neat, I don't understand what's wrong with her looks when I wear it. If you need something to keep your hand and wrist in a neutral position, you can't go wrong with this.
