I have several squares in my tool bag, but this one is a little different from the others. The short leg is a polymer material that is appealing because of the way it will sit on the board or piece you are measuring. It has a ledge to let it sit in the correct position and is kind of rounded to also make it easier to handle. This is shown as stainless steel, which is always a plus, as I have several old squares that have started to rust. I read someone's comment that their square arrived with incorrect markings. So, I checked mine for length marks against a precision measuring ruler tool I have and it seemed to be fine. Overall, I'd say this is a handy square I'm happy to have and I expect it to last a long time.
