This is literally the best computer I have ever owned. An SSD is the way to go, and at 512GB it's even better. Everything works right away and setup was very quick and easy. This can definitely be used for both general computing and general gaming. I personally use this laptop for graphic design work and it works great with Adobe software. The colors and graphics card are great, the RAM, etc. everything is very decent in this machine. It just opens instantly. Additionally, it's an IPS screen, so the screen looks great from every angle. What looks really good on screen is, that there are practically no edges on the sides. Somehow the webcam is placed on top and I like the slide close feature to protect against scammers. I really like the keyboard's backlight and it's a real must-have in my opinion, especially when the Caps Lock key is also backlit with an additional on/off indicator. This is very important to me when I work in a dark room. The keyboard itself is very nice and comfortable to type on, and it's also very quiet. I also really like the very inconspicuous fingerprint scanner. The battery is amazing and lasts around 4-6 hours depending on what you're doing, but I'd like to get better numbers for an accurate battery test. The laptop is very light and since it doesn't have big bezels it's a bit smaller than my old 15 inch laptops. Sound quality is good, not the best but very decent and works well. I wish it was a touchscreen, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I also wish the screen was a little brighter than the highest settings, but then again, that's not a deal breaker for me personally. It would also be nice if the laptop had a few more USB drives since it doesn't have a CD drive. One of the main disadvantages is the internal fan. The laptop gets very hot if used improperly and I strongly recommend an external laptop fan for prolonged gaming use. Without it, the internal fan gets too loud. Overall this machine is a beast and I highly recommend it, great job Dell! but it's not a deal breaker for me.
