Review on Transform Your Closets With DIYHD 5FT Stainless Steel Bi-Parting Barn Door Hardware Kit by James Parker

Slim profile that is also easy to mount.

I have a bathroom that I needed to make more handicap accessible. I'm faced with a problem that this barn door kit seems to solve. First off, I specifically purchase this for the fact that the hangers can be mounted separately. I don't need to have a header to mount this bar, instead I can place these mounts exactly where the studs are. This makes installation easier and also brought the barn door that much closer to the wall. The rolling mechanism is very smooth and quiet. I also like the floor guide because it seems to absorb a lot of vibration. There are things that I don't like about this system. If you go with this system, you will not be able to add a soft close mechanism because of the tubular design. The anti jump mechanism doesn't seem very effective. It is too far from the bar to prevent the door from falling off the track. I actually took mine off because it gets in the way of my door trim. I need my door trim to fill in the gap between the door and the wall. Since this is a bathroom door, I wanted maximum privacy. The end cap to bar keep falling off if there is too much vibration. I just super glue it on.Overall I like this barn door hardware for its slim profile and the fact that it is easy to mount without a header.

Pros
  • best barn door track
Cons
  • May be challenging to open and close for individuals with limited mobility
