Overall this extender is well designed and made. The downside is that it's a little fiddly to get it in the right position as you have to unscrew each section and make sure you line it up properly with the teeth in the joint before screwing it back in to set the angle. It's a little awkward, but once you've adjusted the position, it seems pretty stable. The big downside and weak point of the whole package is the end piece that screws the GoPro mount to the end of the stand. Although all parts are metal and there is a rubber stopper on the underside of the mounting plate, it "slips". I think other people have mentioned this as well. Also, the hinge portion of the screw just doesn't feel like a solid part. In fact, I'd rather the GoPro mount part be just a metal part that's built into the stand than a screw part, because while micro-adjusting the angle might seem like a good idea, it just isn't very functional. My own solution might be to glue it in place so I don't have to worry about the piece moving around the camera mount during recording.
