I said it would reduce water usage. I say it like that because I don't know if it will save you money. If you're paying rent, your water is probably included. But money is not the most important thing. We must preserve our resources if we hope to share them. This will help you with that. Not paying rent helps you save money. I'm not a plumber but I was able to install it myself. The manufacturer is very helpful and was able and willing to answer some of my questions. For example, the instructions distinguish between a high-pressure toilet and a low-pressure toilet. I didn't know what I had. I asked home depot. They couldn't help. I knew my toilet had low flow. Does that mean the pressure is low? The short answer is no. I contacted the manufacturer and they told me that most toilets in the US are high pressure. Mexico and some other countries have low-pressure toilets. I just needed to know how to follow the right directions. Another useful thing. Save the original inflation hose when disconnecting from the inflation valve. You may find it difficult to stabilize the fill cycle switch over the overflow tube. If this is the case, you can attach the hose segment you saved to the bottom of the fill cycle switch so that the fill cycle switch attaches to the overflow hose. I look like a plumber, don't I? No, definitely not a plumber. Much luck! I think you will be happy. I'm hoping the manufacturer will customize one for my other toilet which has a rectangular dual flush regulator in the existing cistern. Another point I would like to add now is that the manufacturer suggests using the Method brand marine mineral foam soap, which can be purchased from Target. It may also be available from other locations. Apparently, some types of soap, such as organic lavender soap, can promote mold growth in the aquarium. We don't want that. I believe some reviewers have complained about this item. I'm quite willing to build and plan workarounds :-)
