Review on StopTech 309.06830 Performance Brake Pads including Shims and Hardware by Wade Meeks

I have a 2002 E46 M3, the only car I have used these pads on. I bought these as an inexpensive road pad that wasn't supposed to settle and I have to say I was very impressed. The cold braking ability is moderate to good, they behave like standard pads. in them (1 or 2 hard stops from freeway speeds) they noticeably get more grip - they can go away, but it takes a lot of work, and they go away smoothly and predictably - I haven't noticed a big drop in friction. like some other pads. As they wear out (replacement time is approaching), I notice that their resistance to light decreases. Still very linear and predictable. I wasn't very careful during installation and didn't apply any anti-squeak compound. They mostly squeak with the light brake pressure I use in normal road driving and it's a little annoying. It comes and goes and I've done *nothing* to make it work. It's not bad enough to get me back under the car. When I put on the next set I will apply lots of anti-squeak compound, the internet tells me this should eliminate the squeak. These pads lasted about seven months. I have fairly short daily commutes, but I abuse my brakes on canyon roads at least once a week. It seems a little short to me but it leads me to believe they probably aren't wearing my rotors too much and to be honest their performance is impressive enough and their price is cheap enough that I won't complain Jota . - I don't think these pads will survive a day at the track, I'll probably be above their temp range most of the time, but for a beginner or in a lighter machine they would be spot on. Predictability is good, and sometimes it's more valuable than pure performance. Overall I am very impressed with these pads for mixed street/recreational use. *Especially* given the price. I highly recommend them.
