Review on Viega 50243 2 Inch PureFlow Manabloc by Serguei Mracek

I bought this to replace my copper collectors which were badly corroded from acidic well water. Of course, this thing shouldn't rust. Some people have remarked that it is difficult to install the ends and then remove the tubing if necessary when routing the tubing as directed when the tubing goes 2 x 4 on each side. There is a simple solution for this. Using the template, drill two 2 x 4 holes as directed, but use a drill bit one size larger. Then cut the 2 x 4 in half through the holes. Attach half to a wall or whatever piece of plywood you're using to mount the manifold and line up the holes with the outlets. Attach each Pex tube, then place the other half of the 2 x 4 on top of the tubes and secure with a few screws to hold the 2 x 4 in place. Any time you need to work on the pipes you can remove the bolts and voila, access is easy. It only worked for a few weeks, but all 20 or so lines were installed without a single leak. I figured it would be easier to mount the manifold on a piece of plywood and make as many connections as possible before removing the old manifolds and installing the new one. This is limited downtime.
