Review on 🚴 Pearl Izumi X Alp Men's Cycling Shoes by Punk Espinoza

I have the navy blue and love the look (be careful - the orange trim is almost fluorescent) and the fit, but they literally do NOT cling to my flats. Pedals Crankbros Stamp 1 (big), so it's not the pedals that are the problem. Every root/rock on the trail made my feet slip unless I was putting 100% of my weight on the pedals (ie not on the saddle at all). They have a section on the outsole that should be where you make contact with the pedal, but the other parts of the outsole grip MUCH better than the actual pedal contact areas. The pedal contact surface is made of very dense rubber, which is very durable but has little grip! Replace them with some Five Ten Freeriders asap! However, these ALP-Xs would make for decent boat boots.
