Literally no clutch: my review

Now don't scold me and think my pedals suck, they don't. These shoes are like a piece of wood bouncing on the pedals. Super annoying when I'm shutting down clunky stuff

Pros
  • Right size. Good for winter driving. Not as strong pedal grip as expected.
Cons
  • I have never ridden in these shoes. I had to return because they were too tight. Although I have wide feet.

dark blue pair has bright orange color

There was no navy blue pic and when it arrived it was more vibrant than I prefer with neon orange highlights on the shoes. Seems true to size and fits well.

Pros
  • The PEARL IZUMI X-Alp Flow men's cycling shoes are incredibly versatile and are suitable for both mountain biking and hiking. Its durable construction, comfortable fit and exceptional grip make it a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts.
Cons
  • The Pearl Izumi X-Alp Flow men's cycling shoes may not be suitable for those with wider feet as they may be too tight and uncomfortable.

Pros
  • I am a casual MTB rider. Good grip of flat shoes with MTB pedals. Comfortable, light and appears to be waterproof.
Cons
  • El agarre en el pedal is not to be trusted.

WARNING: NO PEDAL GRIP TOTALLY

I have the navy blue and I love the look (careful - the orange trim is almost fluorescent) and the fit, but they literally WILL NOT hold up my flats. The pedals are Crankbros Stamp 1 (big), so the pedals aren't the problem. Every root/rock on the trail made my feet slip unless I was putting 100% of my weight on the pedals (ie not on the saddle at all). They have a patch on the outsole that should be where you touch the pedal, but the other parts of the sole held up MUCH better than the actual…

flat. The pedals are Crankbros Stamp 1 (big), so the pedals aren't the problem. Every root/stone on the trails made my feet slide unless I was putting 100% of my weight on the pedals (i.e. not on the saddle at all). but other parts of the sole grip MUCH better than the actual pedal contact areas. The pedal contact surface is made of very dense rubber, which is very durable but has little grip! Replace them with some Five Ten Freeriders asap! However, these ALP-Xs would make for decent boat…

Pros
  • EVA midsole for excellent shock absorption on hard landings
Cons
  • No instructions

ATTENTION: TOTALLY NO CLUTCH PEDAL

I have the navy blue and love the look (be careful - the orange trim is almost fluorescent) and the fit, but they literally do NOT cling to my flats. Pedals Crankbros Stamp 1 (big), so it's not the pedals that are the problem. Every root/rock on the trail made my feet slip unless I was putting 100% of my weight on the pedals (ie not on the saddle at all). They have a section on the outsole that should be where you make contact with the pedal, but the other parts of the outsole grip MUCH better…

Pros
  • Men's
Cons
  • poorly designed
