Update: After only 4 months of very infrequent use this beep stopped working. I replaced the battery just in case, but no, the bell no longer works. Very bad quality. This thing is extremely easy to set up, just plug and play. If you want to get creative you can adjust the volume and/or change the melody, but that's about it. foolproof. I have a receiver 60 feet from the door and it always alerted me when the door was open. But the main problem is the choice of sounds. It's meant to be a call just to warn you when a door or window is opened, not a stereo, so there's no point in having tons of endless songs that defeat the very purpose of this call. So if you just want ding-dong, you only have one option. I don't understand why the designers thought everyone wanted to hear a long, long song every time the door opened.
