Received my Merece Stud Finder from Revain just a day after ordering which was a great start. I'm not a carpenter or handyman, but I still like driving a nail or screw into a wall and knowing it will hold because it hits a bolt. The reason I bought this is so I can hang a 65" tv on the wall of our living room for extra counter space as well as a better view and look. I tested it on a paneled wall in our basement as soon as it arrived so I know exactly where the studs are. Follow the instructions that come in the box! I think most of the negative reviews are due to user error rather than the device. I had no problem finding the studs through the panels so I tried the drywall in my bedroom. I switched to 1 inch mode, followed the instructions and easily found the edge right where the picture was hanging above which I knew years ago would fit on this nail. I really want to install a TV mount with this tool. Have never tried an electric viewfinder. I think overall I'll get a lot of value over the years from using this rather than guessing where to pin it or some other good reason to use it. The price was also good compared to others and since I'm not a professional who wants the most expensive tool, that's ok. Make sure to remove the battery as instructed when not in use. I suspect that if within a few months the battery could die and cause problems. And in fact, unless you are a contractor, you only need the device from time to time.
