The edges of these blades are coated with titanium. Titanium doesn't oxidize like steel, so the edge of the blade doesn't rub off unevenly and scratch my face after a week. These blades become dull after about 45 shaves. I change my blade every 45 days and get a perfect shave by day 45. I stretched it longer, but when the blade dulls, it becomes a little harder to trim the mustache and there's a little tension. I've been using them for almost 10 years and while they're incredibly expensive compared to the Bic razor, they're absolutely worth every penny.
