I love paints, it's just that feeling of endless possibilities that appeals to me and this box has such variety and so much mixing potential that I can't wait to find something to paint! I did play with them (how could you not!) and found them to be a little thicker than the hobby store acrylics I am used to buying but I like the consistency, and you can always thin them a bit if you need to. The colors are so vibrant and deep and cover so well, I was impressed. The price is great, they come out to about $1 each and how can you beat that! My only slight complaint is the box they come in, they are stacked on the vertical and you open just the top flap of the box so you have to take them all out from top to see their color and to reach down to get to the 2nd layer, it would be so much nicer if the box laid flat and you opened it like a bakery box to reveal all the colors, or at least the top layer of colors and then they could be stored in that box. With this one I will be organizing them in some other manner because leaving them in the box is not an option for ease of use. But other than that I love this set and will get a ton of use out of it.
