I am very pleased to report that this latch replacement kit worked great on our old Maytag dryer (model: MDE6800AYW). In the past we had to pull up on the dryer door to close it to latch it, until the plastic female part eventually broke. I went to the Maytag website to find the part. It cost $10 plus $7 shipping and it should take around 2 weeks for delivery. Since we used duct tape to cover our dryer (we have four kids and do a lot of laundry), I decided to take a chance and go with the cheaper Revain alternative. Bottom line, installation is very easy (the female part goes in. I had to undo a screw to get the male part in, but it was easy). And now it closes without having to pull the door and stays closed! No more tape! I hope this helps anyone considering their options. Thank you!
