Review on Mishimoto MMBK DMAX 06BK Chevrolet Factory Fit 2006 2010 by Ronnie Toups

Bad choice to replace stock

Cannot recommend this boot set as a replacement for factory parts. All of the Mishimoto cleats were too small to fit in the Mishimoto boots once installed. I ended up using the original clamps with new lock nuts. Also, I couldn't install the Mishimoto cold boot. Your boot is twice as thick as the factory boot, has four instead of two reinforcement rings and is around four millimeters longer. All of this resulted in the boot being too stiff for me to fit. I spent at least three hours trying every possible way to assemble this boot and failed. I ended up using an old boot which I reinstalled in about 15 minutes. From this set I have a cold pannier and six clamps that I cannot use. My experience with this kit tells me that it was designed by "engineers" who never attempted to install it in a real car. Learn from my pain and buy either factory parts or aftermarket parts designed to factory specs. These Mishimoto parts might be great for those running a mod turbo on their Duramax, but for me it was a poor choice. I'm only giving this boot set two stars because I was able to use two hot side boots. Otherwise I would have sent the whole mess back and asked for a refund.
