This fall, an aging, sagging 1988 wooden garage door that we knew we would replace finally broke its spring. So it's time for a new garage door, let's ask the door company to examine this opener and even replace it if necessary to make Homelink work. The door company couldn't get Homelink to work either, but while the installers there were trying everything I called Homelink. With Homelink on Speaker with me and the installer, the Homelink consultant asked a few questions that led them to a solution. This included confirming the model number of the remote control. As it turns out, the remote that came with Overhead Door's Destiny 1200 opener isn't compatible with Homelink. To be absolutely clear, the Destiny 1200 opener itself is Homelink compatible, but the remote is not. So if you try to program Homelink with this remote you just can't do it. The Homelink consultant then provided the model number of a garage door opener that works with Homelink. Conclusion: I ordered this remote because Homelink confirmed it would work with my Destiny 1200 opener and I have successfully used this remote to program Homelink into our Toyota Sienna and Subaru Legacy. It's so nice not to have a car door remote when you have the Homelink option.
