Review on BEAMTECH 9006 White LED Headlight by Chris Norman

They don't actually fit 2004 Subaru WRX

This is not Beamtech's fault at all, it's just a characteristic of each vehicle manufacturer. The TLDR is that I ended up installing them, but it was definitely not a plug and play install. Find a YouTube video of someone installing a lightbulb in the same car as yours, then buy that lightbulb. (e.g. beamtech makes more than one H1 bulb). In particular, the stem of an LED light bulb has a slotted configuration (as opposed to a round one - think a key or pencil), as does the bracket that holds the bulb to the back of a car headlight. This is normal as the slotted LED bulb fits into the same slotted bracket. To install these bulbs, however, you must first install the detachable LED bulb collar and attach it to the headlight bracket with a small toggle spring, as the spring cannot get past the LED bulb ballast (because it's too thick). . To attach the LED light to the collar you will need to insert it into the collar at a different angle than the final installation angle and then twist to lock/attach it to the collar (which you have already attached to the bracket on the back) . ). headlight assembly). The problem is that you can't do this because the bracket's "groove" doesn't match the shape of the LED bulb's groove at the angle you have to insert before rotating it to set it in its final position to lock position. set angle - so cannot be set. At least that's where I think the tight fit occurred, it was difficult to figure out exactly. Anyway, the solution was to remove the bracket from the back of the headlight assembly and then cut out a "groove" to make it round with a metal file, after which, as advertised, it was easy to install from there . That's good, but maybe more complicated than people might expect, and definitely requires tools to get the job done (i.e. it's understandable for someone to assume they don't need tools to change a lightbulb). Again, this is not Beamtech's fault at all. It's not like they can put lightbulbs in every dumb car ever made, but it's a problem people can run into. The Subaru's headlight assemblies (at least for my model year) actually had rear covers. I suppose it's better than leaving them open, especially since the OEM H1 bulbs are so fragile, but you can't close the case after installing these bulbs as they are too big. But I'm not sure if that's what you want because I'm sure the ballast needs to dissipate heat and you can't do that in a sealed case. I think this would be a problem with any LED bulb you've tried unless the ballast was disconnected from the actual LED with a wire or something. One last small note, the wiring wasn't entirely intuitive and the English manual included hints. because I didn't connect it properly to begin with. Watch a YouTube video to see if you're doing the right thing if your headlights won't turn on after installation. :)
