The quality of the tin is excellent. The lid is stuck. I wanted to use it as a coffee pot but the lid and pot had a weird chemical smell. I've hand washed the lid and put the jar in the dishwasher 3 times and the smell wasn't that strong but it's still there. I emailed the company explaining the situation and what I had done to fix it and they told me it was the smell of bamboo. I have no doubt that smell was chemical and I would never put food in it. Her advice was to do exactly what I told her to do. Not very helpful. I use the container as a dish holder and hope that the smell of the lid will dissipate over time. It's been about a week and no change. Most others seem happy with their purchase, I am not. Do what you want with it.
