Some functions of my 10 year old remote control stopped working - mainly the fan control. The fan is right above my bed and I'm having trouble breathing, so it's very important to keep the air circulating in the room. I've been getting up in bed to turn on the fan for a month. In the end I decided I had to buy a whole new fan. Before I did that, I noticed the model number on the back of the controller. Of course I wouldn't find it for sale considering how old it is. I was wrong! Revain appeared directly in the search engine. So I checked it. The reviews were good but I was still a bit skeptical but thought it was worth a try so I bought it not really expecting it to work. He arrived yesterday. New battery inserted, button pressed. nothing has happened. What a disappointment! I was preparing to repack and return it when I accidentally turned over the booklet that came with the fan. I saw a schematic with some DIP switch settings. Again, I wondered how I was supposed to know what settings to use. I then opened up the old remote (glad I kept it, of course) to see how that switch was set. I changed the settings on the new remote control, pushed the button and to my delight the fan started working! I am so happy with my purchase! The remote doesn't work but my old controller didn't have a remote so I wasn't expecting it to work but I'm just thrilled that the fan works great! It may be imagination, but I swear the fan speed is way faster than before! The dimmer on the headlights is much more "controllable" than the old remote. Another thing I didn't expect was that it came with a bracket to hang on the wall. I'm so glad I found this model number! I didn't expect it to arrive until mid-August, but it did arrive in less than a week! It was wrapped tightly in bubble wrap and then placed in another envelope filled with bubble wrap. If there's anything to complain about, it's that the battery sits very tightly on the case and is difficult to remove from the case.
