They can ruin your carpet just like mine. Over time the glue spreads so that the plastic glide element moves to the side, then the lower part of the leg or adhesive pad lies directly on the carpet but is covered with glue by the glider which is pressed into the pile of the carpet and tape the leg to the carpet so that it cannot move. This has happened to multiple couch legs while the couch is standing still with no lateral force. (The slightest imbalance can cause creep over time.) I haven't found a way to remove a dirty glue stain from carpet. Adhesive makes assembly of many products quick and easy, but too many manufacturers ignore the spread of their adhesive and ignore the need for side attachment. I'm happy to pay a lot more money for a properly made product. It may look good when first installed, but after 6-12 months this product becomes a disaster.
