Good display suits me

I bought one of these C24 monitors for my home office back in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. I had an old dual monitor desktop that I used for personal use, so I didn't want to connect my laptop to it as I needed a different setup to mentally separate work and play. The 2020 version of this monitor is slightly different from the 2022 version as they are now both mounted side by side. The most notable difference is the bezel, which is thicker but better on the new screen. The reason is that 2020 stops the bezel, almost an inch less than the actual range of the display. It's just a black screen. The thin bezel, which was a good idea, literally did nothing because of that dead zone between the visible display and the bezel. I measured and the 2022 frame covers that range. This gives it a little more power, but not as nicely. It also allows you to bypass fake display ads without edges. While 2020 was fairly bezel-less, the display just didn't extend to the edge of the screen. I wouldn't use them for gaming. If you're a serious gamer, get a 1ms 144Hz display. That's a lot better than them, hitting 4-10ms and 75Hz on the best days in ideal conditions. They say they're great for games because of course they're good for marketing. But just save up and buy a $300-$400 display designed to enhance the gaming experience. Of course, with Age of Empires this monitor is fine. Running Apex, CoD or similar will result in tearing and clipping. Such games really need a higher refresh rate. The speakers are complete junk. I'd rather they just stop putting speakers in monitors and just give us more infinity or put that in a better power supply or something. I don't care about monitor speakers when Logi sells much better speakers for less than $30. Another key difference was the addition of a second HDMI port. The 2020 model only has 1 and the 2022 model has 2. I don't plan on using it, but it will definitely be needed when using multiple devices on a single monitor (instead of KVM or something). The 2020 model also had a sturdy metal stand and bracket, compared to the 2022 model which came with a black plastic stand and bracket. I mounted both on a VESA mount so it's debatable to me but there is a definite visual difference as the metal was silver colored and stronger. That's probably because they added another HDMI and made the whole offering cheaper as of 2020 when I thought I paid around $125. The power cord on them is non-standard, which makes me angry. Most monitors have a 2 or 3 pin power cord (like a TV) which is ideal for its versatility. I've had these cables for a few days and they come in a variety of lengths based on my needs. They come with a proprietary connector and 3-foot cord. This won't work for many setups (especially gamers who may have multi-display setups or a standing desk with limited plug length). You can always find another one somewhere on the internet with the same connector and performance, but why not just use the standard scepter? you are not apple The curvature of these monitors is also a bit of a gimmick. I have a Gigabyte 34-inch Ultra Wide Curved monitor and this thing is definitely curved. They are slightly curved, but not enough to create any real effect. Flaws notwithstanding, these are $100 monitors that perform well and look good for the office. Definitely recommend for WFH warriors or startups as they seem a little overused (I've used 2020 daily, moved it around the office and hardly cleaned it).
