Review on ๐Ÿ”ต Mishimoto MMRT-WRX-01E Expansion Tank - Subaru WRX/STI 2001-2007 Silver by Aaron Richardson

Expensive and poor fit/quality

I installed this part on a 2005 WRX to replace a leaking Subaru original metal fuel tank. Subaru wanted to replace my tank with a plastic tank that sells for $120, so I went in search of a nicer aftermarket part. Engines are very different. It "matches" the 2005 turbocharged 2.0L, but not very well. I had to cut all four molded hoses connected to this unit. Even after cutting, some of the hoses are close to bending or chafing other lines. I'll post pictures later when I have time. - All four molded hoses need to be cut - Flange bolt interfering with weld too close to mounting hole - Only supported by two of the three factory mounting points (not properly supported) - Part corner resting on other slings/tethers - Poor quality at $140 - Partial burrs and loose Aluminum Parts (Remove burr from neck and clean thoroughly before use) - Poor weld

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not the best
