Works for a few weeks but rusts within a day1
After two days of use, the screws in my above ground pool started to rust. Note that this was before any chemicals or salt were added. Just tap water. So I took the unit out, removed the screws, replaced them with stainless steel, and sprayed the rusted areas with Rustoleum rust remover. I am using a pump with a small 12V battery, a 20A solar controller and two 100W solar panels. With a second solar panel, this pump pushes water through 400 feet or 5/8 black pipe 10 feet above ground all day to heat the pool. 6 weeks of daily use and the pump makes a noise like the bearings have failed.
