Worth buying for Rough Plumbing

I use this pump to water my 1200 square foot garden. The garden is about 30 meters from the pond. I'm afraid that the pond pollution will damage the pump, so I plug the inlet with a filter, connect a hose and throw it in the pond. The cable is very long so I don't have to worry about it being too short to connect the battery. That works great. Not a big pump, but strong for its size. I suppose if the sun is strong enough you can also buy solar panels to replace the battery. Very convenient to…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Good but not great

Good quality long cord

Draws about 8.5 amps on start up and then levels off at 7 amps when running from a fully charged 12 volt battery With a pump in my stream can I fill a 5 gallon bucket in 4550 seconds (lifts water 10 feet and through 50 foot hose) Pros: Good quality long cord; durable construction; The handle on top is a nice plus. Cons: The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that there is a leak in the base just off the side of the outlet causing me to lose some pressure/flow but not worth it, send it back

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Works for a few weeks but rusts within a day1

After two days of use, the screws in my above ground pool started to rust. Note that this was before any chemicals or salt were added. Just tap water. So I took the unit out, removed the screws, replaced them with stainless steel, and sprayed the rusted areas with Rustoleum rust remover. I am using a pump with a small 12V battery, a 20A solar controller and two 100W solar panels. With a second solar panel, this pump pushes water through 400 feet or 5/8 black pipe 10 feet above ground all day to

  • Great for a small house

This pump has proven reliable and efficient

I wanted a 12 volt submersible pump because we keep horses and want to regularly empty and clean their deep troughs without a drain plug. We also have a small swimming pool that we drain and clean every fall. I didn't want an AC pump because there is no electricity in the horse stable and the pool is far from outlets. To start this pump I use a 12 volt battery/auto starter to drain the pool and make it portable. It can also run on solar panels, which I haven't tried yet but might do later this…

Works great even when used as a waterfall pump.

Works great even when used as a waterfall pump in a large goldfish pond. I run it directly from 2 solar panels. I connected a 15ft hose and the water drop is 8ft. I've tried it at 15ft and it works great, I don't have a ladder high enough to test its limits. I built the bottom into a foam block to keep dirt out. UPDATE: I'm still working, I've added a float switch and low voltage shutoff relay to protect the pump. Low voltage doesn't really hurt, but if you drain the water the motor will burn…
