Review on BACOENG DC 12V Farm & Ranch Solar Water Pump: High Lift Submersible Well Pump for Efficient Water Supply, 26ft Lift by Dave White

Works great even when used as a waterfall pump.

Works great even when used as a waterfall pump in a large goldfish pond. I run it directly from 2 solar panels. I connected a 15ft hose and the water drop is 8ft. I've tried it at 15ft and it works great, I don't have a ladder high enough to test its limits. I built the bottom into a foam block to keep dirt out. UPDATE: I'm still working, I've added a float switch and low voltage shutoff relay to protect the pump. Low voltage doesn't really hurt, but if you drain the water the motor will burn out since it can't dissipate heat. The suction is quite intense, so any foam block you use needs to have a large surface area. . I ended up just filling a plastic flower pot with gravel and placing the pump in the middle of the gravel. This pump doesn't mind very small algae, but plant matter or debris will clog the inlets. Screw a float switch into the top of the flower pot and make sure it shuts off the power when the water is about 2 inches above where the water overflows the top of the pot. The suction is strong enough to let the pump run dry as the water doesn't flow through the pan fast enough to keep up with the pump. (Sucking the water from the top as well will keep most of the dirt from getting into your filter since the dirt is usually at the bottom. I'm buying a second unit to increase the flow of water from the waterfall. It's currently 8 feet high and 2 feet wide and has 2 shallow areas between 3 slopes.Water depth is 1" to 2" on levels and is very important on slopes. You should protect yourself from splashing water by using rocks and plants wisely use to keep the water in the pond rather than flooding your garden. The waterfall is basically pond liner nailed over a treated wood frame but it looks convincing and I didn't dig in. Potted plants cover the sides along with 2 tall bushes I have solar panels over the pond for shade Requires 2 to run 1 pump (a 12v panel actually puts out 18v in full sun so you parallel the panels l can wire it up and integrate it into an existing 12v solar panel or you can do it in series) and get more water flow from the pump - a single 100watt 12v panel will not provide 18v with this pump as the power consumption is too high).
