Review on BACOENG DC 12V Farm & Ranch Solar Water Pump: High Lift Submersible Well Pump for Efficient Water Supply, 26ft Lift by Robert Grind

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This pump has proven reliable and efficient

I wanted a 12 volt submersible pump because we keep horses and want to regularly empty and clean their deep troughs without a drain plug. We also have a small swimming pool that we drain and clean every fall. I didn't want an AC pump because there is no electricity in the horse stable and the pool is far from outlets. To start this pump I use a 12 volt battery/auto starter to drain the pool and make it portable. It can also run on solar panels, which I haven't tried yet but might do later this year as I can just install one and leave it running unattended. To empty the horse feeders, we run the pump from our truck's battery. This pump does the job we bought it for. It's small and light, making it easy to move from trough to trough or transport to the pool. There is a filter on the bottom which prevents the pump from clogging with large debris from the bottom of what you are draining but still allows for a fairly low water level. There is a ribbed metal connector for the water outlet so you can just slip a 1" hose over it. The power cord comes without a plug and has two wires on the end, marked red for positive and black for negative, as you would expect. . We've added red and black battery clips to ours for easier connection to truck battery terminals. You can install a cigarette lighter and then plug it into the car if you want. The power cord is just over 20 feet long, which makes it really useful compared to some others we've seen with much shorter cords, especially if you're powering it the way we did to make it portable make. This pump doesn't make too much noise. when it works (the horses don't care) and it claims to be able to deliver up to 26 gallons per minute. I have no way of measuring this exactly, but it seems correct to me, especially when pumping chutes that only require about 5 feet of head. The pump is rated for up to 25 feet so good enough for our needs! It has proven to be reliable and efficient to date, and that's exactly what we wanted from a portable 12V pumping solution.
