This is exactly what I needed - no smartphone required. No third-party spyware scans your phone. Simplicity equals functionality. I use mine to turn the room lights and satellite radio on and off. Remove one of the five blocks and one of the two remote controls. Plug it in and then turn on a lamp or TV, etc. Press the remote control and you're in. All five blocks work with any remote control. And if you have two remote controls, you can leave one on top. Giving you two remotes is just awesome. Each wall unit has a switch in case you lose or damage both remote controls. The sockets on the consoles are connected to two- or three-pin plugs. The original kit has worked for me for over a year with no problems. Each remote control is powered by a small 12V battery (included). It says "programmable" on the box. I'm not sure about that. HF signal at a good distance. It goes through walls and floors in a half-timbered house. I can turn the barn light on and off from the kitchen. This remote control is a good reliable device. I will probably buy more for friends and family. I can recommend these remote controls
