This switch is essential if you want to be able to control your power amplifier. I think this is important because without it the steps will be provided automatically. In most cases that's fine, but if you've parked next to a high curb, for example, you might not want them to automatically flip and bump into them, or you might just want to flip them over to clean. The switch was easy to install, took about an hour. The hardest part was finding the right spot on the dashboard and routing the cables through the firewall, a little tedious but not difficult. It was a new truck and the dealer installed the steps themselves but charged $130 for the $40 derailleur and another $150 for installation, not $35 on Amazon. I'm giving it a low rating because it's little more than a switch and a few wires with connector ends attached and a few small miscellaneous parts, so even at $35 it's ridiculously overpriced. Plus, with the $1,300+ Power Step kit, this switch is such an essential part that it should only be included in the steps and not monetized as an accessory.
