Used kitchen scissors to cut to match our steps. They stick very well, although our steps are made of old, slightly rough wood. Just in case, I also sat a bit on each step, thinking that the heat and pressure would help the glue stick better. It's been at least a week and no peeling. Not invisible, but blends in well. Simply wipe with a damp cloth. I got them because we have a spiral staircase that my dog slipped and fell down the other day (luckily he didn't hurt himself). Now I feel safer on the steps and I hope my dog does too.
