When I received this light it was well packaged and appeared intact. The jaws have been pressed firmly against the drill sleeve indicating they are perfectly centered. When I tried to feel it, the first thing I noticed was that it was very tight. Now I know it was just a facade for what happened next. When I opened it the jaws fanned out like a V, just a dump I said. But then when I re-tightened it, the jaws only shrunk at one end, leaving .100 (measured) "slack" at the other. I don't want to correct a 1/16 inch error in my joinery. Without the ability to tighten both ends of the clamp, the jig is uncontrollable when drilling, which explains some of the other reviews. Ultimately, the problem is that the large threaded holes in both aluminum blocks were not drilled square. I chose an expensive unit to avoid this and now I drop this one along the way to get a cheap one at Harbor Freight. Going online instead of bricks and mortar to dodge Covid didn't work this time. Update: Replacement has arrived and the issue has been resolved. The potential is there, but I took a different approach. I keep it because I often need centered holes and this looks like a good tool.
