Nice dowel clamp. Seems pretty accurate. It would be much easier to use if the center lines were marked with true white for better contrast. Hard to see without a flashlight.

Inaccurate, overpriced, look for the cheapest and you'll probably have the same problems, but you can still try to fix it by loosening 2 side screws Alan's key and then turn the center dial.

I've been using cookies for a long time. The old dowel fittings were cheap and inaccurate. This jig is very well made, durable and accurate. Takes longer than cookies but results in a much better and stronger glue line.

I have used this gauge for both hammering and centering on white wood, works for my purposes. The vise provides enough clamping force to keep my hand drill from slipping. The workmanship looks good and mine doesn't wobble when in place. I'm a novice at carpentry though, so take this for what it's worth.

I have never used a self-centering dowel template on a project. I'm still learning how to use it. Its accuracy when drilling holes in the edge of a piece of wood is very high, and at the moment the jig is suitable for wood from 3/4 inch to 2x4. the flat wood surface with the same ease and precision as drilling holes in the edge, with dowels it should last for many years.

When I received this light it was well packaged and appeared intact. The jaws have been pressed firmly against the drill sleeve indicating they are perfectly centered.
