I bought it for animals. It was more expensive than other models and it didn't work for me. Although it seemed to register, it never indicated when the final temperature had been reached, but only slowly crawled upwards. My horse lost patience after a few minutes of waiting. It's not fun when you're dealing with a big animal that's not doing well. I've tried several times and have never been able to get the exact temperature. Using a different thermometer required seconds, not minutes, and accurate readings.
