I hate buying monitors without being able to see them in person, but my local Fry's and Best Buy stores didn't have one that I was interested in. At first I wanted one of the high-resolution 49-inch displays, but spending $1,299 without seeing the eyes was too impractical. I also decided it would be better to have two identical 32" models for fault tolerance, flexibility, portability, etc. I settled on the 32-inch Samsung 4K, which generally had great reviews, but only ordered one to try and test. Make sure it's what I wanted before ordering a second one. It arrived yesterday, was fairly easy to set up (after a few hiccups), and displays in the center of my multi-monitor array. The plan is to replace the two external monitors with a second one and get a curved ultra-wide screen. The picture is nice and clear, although the blacks aren't that great out of the box. I didn't do much customization. I found that in order to run two 4K displays at 60Hz on my Surface Pro 7 I would have to buy a new docking station, so that was a bit disappointing but fixable. The problem that cannot be solved is that the stand is FIXED - no up and down adjustment at all. I knew this would happen but hoped it would be low enough. It is not. I'm small and I look up and clench my neck to use it. What I didn't expect is that there isn't a VESA mount either, so I can't get another stand/mount for it. At the moment I haven't decided whether I'll order a second one or just do it. I wish I had seen this one and others in the store before making my decision. It's certainly a lot better than what I had before (replaces 6-7 year old HP 1920 x 1080 displays), but for the price I guess I was expecting a bit more. I like that it's light and easy to carry, that the image is sharp even at not full resolution, and the size of the screen, although I would have liked it to be less high and more wide. It can grow on me; I'll give it a week or so and see what happens. Just don't get the "oh wow, I love that" reaction I was hoping for.
