BIG UPDATE ON AUDI STOCK COILS - BUY THEM BEFORE YOUR STOCK COILS ARE NOT SHOWN. BECAUSE. YOU WILL LOSE.

Vehicle Information - 2011 Audi A5 Quattro, 137,000 miles. Installed these R8 coils with new spark plugs and the car runs great. And now for some history and advice. My coil #3 is about 75,000 miles. Due to a malfunction at the end of the day and during my ride I hobbled to the nearest repair shop where they only replaced coil #3 (they only had 1 in stock). A few weeks later I replaced the other 3 coils. No problems until I have about 110,000 miles. Coil #1 is out of order. At this point I replaced all 4 coils as I wanted matching coils from the same manufacturer. 137,000 miles back from Washington (at least 95 miles) another coil failed. The car lost power above 2000rpm (it felt like the box was slipping) so I hobbled back to safety. Plugged in the code reader and pulled out the misfire code on cylinder #3. Knowing about this issue I called AutoZone and luckily they had the coil. Exchanged at their parking lot (literally took 5 minutes) and back on the street. I have researched these coil failures and there are literally thousands of complaints about the standard coils used in most Audi models. Through research I found R8 coil packs to be much more reliable and around 40% hotter spark and no compatibility complaints. So far so good and my car is running better than I can remember. So…. Here's my suggestion... As you approach 70,000 miles, do yourself a huge favor. REPLACE YOUR COILS NOW WITH THESE R8 COILS. If you can text, you can easily swap out these coils. LITERALLY REMOVE A PHILLIPS SCREW, REMOVE OLD COILS, REMOVE EACH CONNECTOR (one on each coil), REMOVE COILS, INSTALL NEW COILS, RECONNECT EACH OF THE 4 CONNECTORS, PUSH EACH COIL TO GO. INSERT AND TIGHTEN THE PHILLIPS SCREW ON THE SPARK PLUG. Where are they…. Also buy a simple code reader and keep it in the trunk along with the removed coils. If you don't replace the coils first, buy one or a whole set of 4 and toss them in the trunk along with a code reader and a Phillips screwdriver...THIS WAY AND OTHERS YOU WILL GET THE COIL ERRORS, SO BE PREPARED. .. YOU WILL RECEIVE NO WARRANTY IF YOU STOP AT THE AUDI DEALER.... it's such a simple fix and will save you hundreds just by changing it yourself. YOU WILL NOT REFUSE... YOU WILL NOT REFUSE AT AN APPROPRIATE PLACE... YOU WILL NOT REFUSE AT AN APPROPRIATE TIME... BUT.... YOU WILL LOSE COMPLETELY…. Hope that helps……
