Review on DEWALT DCF885C1 20V Impact Driver by Daniel Ortiz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Kill two DeWalts with one order

Includes 1 x 1.5Ah battery and comes with a canvas carry case (not a plastic hard case). Comes with a charger but no other extras (no bits, adapters, etc.). While you can choose to move forward or backward, there are no settings other than the trigger, which is speed dependent (the harder you pull the trigger, the faster the drill spins). Even with a lousy 1.5Ah battery, this 1/4" screwdriver does an excellent job of driving 3" wooden nails into a standard 4WD car without a pilot hole. The 20V battery has a lot of little plastic grooves and mounting slots that can be attached to the drill, which is why I'm concerned that something will snap off and ruin either the drill or the battery (Install and disconnect the battery carefully. On the contrary to 14.4/18V DeWalts that allow you to insert the battery into the instrument). When you want to use a screwdriver (flathead or Phillips), simply pull back on the locking ring, insert the bit and release and it will lock into place. It will NOT hold standard drill bits. I think I'll see if I can find a drill adapter and see how the impact driver handles drilling holes. Although you can adjust RPM with a trigger, no torque control. Although only a 20 volt battery was included when it arrived, the Revain description stated an additional 5Ah capacity battery. Found that second battery is shipped separately for some reason. The nylon canvas bag is strong and the zipper is strong and big enough to hold the tools and accessories but seems to hold my welding gear better (gloves, electrode cables, stinger etc. The helmet doesn't fit this helmet). Mechanism). I bought a discount DeWalt cordless coffee grinder because it didn't have a charger or battery. Plan (obviously) to use the batteries and charger that come with the impact wrench for both the impact wrench and the grinder.

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Includes negative
