Not suitable for outdoor curtains

I bought these to use as outdoor screen room curtains. We live in East Texas, which is very humid. 6 weeks after gluing, the "curtains" are very moldy and cannot be washed off. Not recommended for outdoor curtains unless you can spray something on them to prevent mold. They were so cute in screen space and I hated that they didn't work. I should have thought about spraying them with some sort of mildew killer (if there is one).
