Quick Installation Guide ender 3

Ender 3 Quick Start Guide Before you remove your old extruder, go to Thingiverse and locate this file (Bondtech BMG Mount for Creality CR10 Ender 3). Print out first! This extruder will not attach to the printer without this bracket as it is too big to fit where the old extruder was. You need to buy 8 M3 nuts to attach it to your ender. 3. Now remove your old extruder. Put your hand under the motor as the screws holding the extruder also hold the motor! Use the smallest hex wrench in the Ender 3 kit to remove the gear on top of the motor. Attach the new gear with the screw facing up, this time making sure the screw is on the flat side of the rack. Leave a gap of approx. 1 mm between the gearbox and the motor. Tighten it. Insert 4 M3 screws into the slots in the bracket you just printed. Now carefully insert the motor into the bracket, making sure the motor cable connector faces the open area of the bracket. Attach the new extruder to the top of the motor/bracket assembly. Make sure the clamp on the extruder is facing the inside of the printer. The m3 screws that held the old extruder are slightly longer than the bracket you just printed. So take each screw and screw a 1m3 screw on top of the screw so you can securely attach the bracket to the printer. Now attach the bracket assembly to the printer where the motor used to be, but this time attach the assembly to the bottom. You need to reverse the motor polarity for this extruder. There is a yellow bead on one wire of the connector, this is wire 5, look at the opposite side of the connector, this is wire 1, this is the first wire you need to remove, use a utility knife to gently pry the plastic to exit clip. while holding the wire, gently pull on it until it comes loose. Count to the 4th wire, remove this wire again. Swap the two wires you just removed. Wire 1 goes into wire 4, wire 4 goes into wire 1. You may need a longer piece of PTFE tubing since your new extruder will be farther from the printer. Once installed, insert the teflon tube into the extruder with one grip. Place the small piece of PTFE tubing that came with the printer on the other side where the filament will be placed. My stats are set to 415. To add or remove filament, preheat the hot end to 210 and then feed the filament through the short section. PTFE through and through. Then use your finger to turn the gear on the back of the extruder towards the hot end until the printer starts extruding the filament. To remove, heat your hot end back up to 210 and then back off the gear on the back of the extruder until the filament is free. Hope that helps.
