Review on IOGEAR 4-Port DVI KVMP Switch with Full Cable Set: Ultimate TAA Compliant Solution by Richard Sallah

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Loved it, bought a second one!

I'm using my mining rig and wanted to see four motherboards on site quickly; People say they use linux, use remote desktop with google or teamviewer but it's not the same as direct input and windows 10 worked fine so my first four installs showed up with it until I started adding other settings. With a second monitor and a few more rigs I thought it was worth having a solid connection despite the slightly high price. I haven't had any problems with the device and it works well. The cables aren't that short, in fact my rack is 4ft wide and the two motherboards are on opposite ends and I didn't have to buy a DVI extension cable (although I have a few). Obviously if you need it more than 5 feet or so I will definitely buy an extension cord. If you have a wireless mouse and keyboard, all you need is a receiver kit or a physical connection to the back of the KVM switch. You don't need multiple receivers or anything like that as each DVI cable has a USB cable that acts as a communication key. It also has a microphone and audio in/out, which is also a great feature if you need this type of feature on each of the devices you connect to. I noticed that the terminal screws on the DVI connector are a little tight and thought I'd tap the threads on some of them. For this reason I didn't overtighten some of the screws, but be aware. The LED indicator I noticed is dim on one of the switches, but I wouldn't fuss. Pressing the buttons too quickly to toggle them will sometimes jumble them up, but other than that I had no problems. I've tried Biostar TB250 BTC and BTC+ motherboards and the ASUS B250 motherboard and they all worked great. for $239 or so it would be worth it. But if you're looking for a rugged, reliable, long-lasting, feature-rich KVM for today's monitors and devices, this is definitely for you!
