I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500, 4WD with Z71 package. I bought this kit with some caveats that it will actually give me 2 inches. I received the box and it was very nicely wrapped in foam. Took quite a while to install (north of 5 hours) but I did it alone, with 2 jacks and a standard jack (my cargo jack at the port decided to break 2 days before). Power tools are extremely useful along with pneumatic tools, and you'll need a combination of long and short sockets and wrenches. The back end is relatively easy, I found the ratchet straps handy for getting everything back in place. The front end can present some issues depending on how much rust you have on your truck. Mine wasn't that rusty, but the keys weren't. I don't want to just go out. Heat and a big hammer to help you. The included shocks are a bonus and feel a little stiffer than stock, but come on, it's a truck. I have decided to order kick boots but I don't think it's a must, just a personal preference. Fitted with stock tires it looks good and you can tell there's more room in the wheel arches. I chose wheels and tires (BFG 285/75r16 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 Radial Tire - 285/75R16 126R and American Racing Bajas American Racing Custom Wheels AR172 Baja Polished Wheel (16x8"/6x139.7 mm , offset 0mm)) and they're really important. People think it's a 2500, not a raised 1500. It looks great. The only downside is that the ride is definitely stiffer, but on a truck that's over 10 years old can't get too excited, given the visual results I've been using since installing the 4WD and haven't noticed any issues with its functionality, make sure your CV boots/ankles aren't too hard, otherwise you might have issues with their durability but they are easy enough to replace (just say goodbye to your saturday) and there are a dozen of them in the junkyard the best thing about this lift are the stickers they give you one n for every hit and more to get past your rear window and let me tell you you can feel the boost The HP you get with these things is probably at least 50 if not more, definitely worth the money , not to mention the elevator. (This is a joke for anyone missing a six pack.) Would 100% recommend to friends but probably won't buy again just because I'm looking to run my 35th now. It's a great price and Rough Country is a great company. I may invest in their 6 inch lifters in the future but I'm loving it at the moment.
