Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Experience Ultimate Performance with the Painless Performance 30202 Hot Shot Kit! by Dick Grayson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

First check the pinout to make sure it matches the relay!

I installed this kit on my 1980 Toyota pickup to help with starting. The kit is a relatively simple relay. The instructions were fairly easy, and I even followed the Yotatech guide to set up this particular relay. This is my 3 star rating. I hooked up the relay harness exactly as instructed but couldn't get it to work. The first reaction is to check my ground for proper grounding. Then I checked +12V on the battery. Then recheck my soldered connections on the oe trigger connector and the starter connector. All said and done, it wasn't my tree shadow ability. Although it can be sketchy at times lol. Finally, I took a quick look at the relay connector itself and set the relay pinout. It turned out that the FEMALE PINS INSIDE THE socket were in the wrong place. PIN #87 AND PIN #30 HAVE BEEN CHANGED. I quickly unplugged it in the right place, plugged in the relay and it worked right away. Looks like I received this pendant which was made on a Monday or Friday evening. A simple mistake that QC didn't catch. However, after it was fixed, it worked as intended and made it easier for me to start. A 15 minute job turns into 30. Check people's pinouts. Pin 30 = +12V battery (fuse) Pin 87 = spade to starter Pin 86 = spade to trigger OE connection Pin 85 = ground ^^^ Wiring for my 1980 Toyota pickup, but this is just a general wiring reference.
