DVD burner defective

I have had a JVC/VHS combo DVD recorder for over 7 years. That was great. Now that it no longer recognizes discs and no one can fix it due to missing parts, I decided to try and buy this device hoping that it will allow me to copy recordings from my DVR. I've even bought a device that bypasses that annoying "Copyrighted" stop when trying to burn a DVD from a DVR. However, this unit didn't even play the DVD. It had the old-school look of a device made in the late '70s or early '80s (although they didn't even exist back then). It was just old style. It instantly ejected ANY DVD I put in (personal or commercial) and then the disc tray stopped closing halfway. It then makes a constant loud click. I had to manually shut it down and then unplug it to prevent it from retrieving and doing the same thing over and over again. I had to send it back via Revain. I'm pretty sure it wasn't from the seller. I give the seller 5 stars for the excellent service and delivery. However, it's important to test these devices really thoroughly before classifying them as "tested/working" and giving the impression that the DVD burner is working properly.

Pros
  • Double deck for DVD and VHS recording; Dimensions 16.9 x 3.5 x 13.7 inches (W x H x D)
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
