I replaced the batteries with lithium batteries as they work better and last longer in cold temperatures. Tested and re-tested at home, works great. Went to a snow camp for a lesson. We had to go to the camp after dark in a snowstorm. The white light didn't work. I managed to get only the red light to work. Came home and worked fine. Went on another trip, temperature 35 ° at night. Again the white light didn't work, only the red. Waste of money.grrrr!
