Illuminate Your Path with the Black Diamond Revolt Headlamp: A Powerful Lighting Solution Review

I bought this headlamp for a week long camping trip. Needless to say I was left in the dark! I spent a little more than usual because I relied on Black Diamond's excellent reputation. Boy was I wrong! The "rechargeable" batteries don't hold a charge and the bulb itself isn't even that bright. I emailed Black Diamond 2 weeks ago and still haven't gotten a reply. I replaced the batteries with lithium batteries as they work better and last longer in cold temperatures. Tested and re-tested at home, works great. Went to a snow camp for a lesson. We had to go to the camp after dark in a snowstorm. The white light didn't work. I managed to get only the red light to work. Came home and worked fine. Went on another trip, temperature 35 ° at night. Again the white light didn't work, only the red. Waste of money.grrrr!

I only had problems with the headlamp and the batteries that came with it. The lithium batteries either didn't charge or didn't hold a charge very long (it was a combination of both that I was able to get the headset to charge correctly). I bought this headlamp in June 2018, I have used it 5 times in total (3 of them to work on my truck at night). I charged it for a hike this weekend and the charge light is flashing red indicating a bad battery or a problem with the batteries. Tried replacing the batteries but the red light is still on. Used about once a week and worked very well for about 6 months, bright light and comfortable oh. Stop loading! So, took out batteries, even tried standard AAA batteries, still doesn't work. Noticed the loose middle battery and found that the middle battery had no electrical contact but moved freely between the contacts on each end. There is no spring tension. The only benefit of a rechargeable headlight is that you can charge AAA batteries with the headlight itself, rather than using an external charger.
