I bought these socks for our recent vacation in the Galapagos. The main reason I bought these were not to wear with fins. I used them that way, but they weren't a big help in that respect. The real value to me was wearing these with my Teva water shoes. These socks combined with the shoe mad wet landings on islands and walking in the surf very comfortable. No sand could get in the sock, so I felt very comfortable even when my feet sank into wet sand.When the day's explorations were over, I took off the shoes and rinsed the sand off the socks (and out of the shoes). My feet never were bothered by any of it though. It was the perfect combination. I highly recommend any time you are going to do serious walking in water (for walking on water, you might need something else. I can't help you there.)
