It works very well in my space. I installed shelves on the side for two reasons: 1) I have wire shelves in my closet and this product would fall across the room 2) My shelves are as deep as the width of this shelf so I didn't want to waste space. Goods of this standard size fit perfectly under the shelf. I think it's great that my storage space has almost doubled and I don't have to stack cans on top of each other like a block tower. This shelf is strong enough to hold a few cans on it, but the shelf flexes a bit (especially around the edges). I don't think the shelf will collapse, but if hit lightly, I'm a little worried about items falling. While this product is suitable for unbreakable items, I would not recommend it for mason jars or jars. Due to the orientation of the shelf with the "U-shaped legs," the shelves block the bottom space a bit, requiring me to lift the cans over the bottom rail. This is inevitable and is the reason I chose this shelf over others without a bottom track (because it "falls through" my wire shelf). It doesn't bother me too much, but it's something to consider if you have space considerations. Overall, I am happy with the functionality and ease of use of this product. I wish the shelf was stiffer. I can't give any feedback on stacking shelves.
