I publish the Strobist website and have become a big fan of the Godox AD200. But for all its merits, the built-in Fresnel reflector that comes with the flash (aka 'naked head') is an absolute heap of crap. Seriously, this is the worst Deviation sample I've ever seen. It looks like a CGI lens flare from a Michael Bay movie. And not for the better. Luckily, you can fix that with a $7.99 Parabolic/Pebble Reflector. The quality of the light pattern has improved significantly. (See attached comparison photo.) Honestly, this allows you to use the flash without an umbrella or softbox, which wasn't possible before. Also great is the addition of an attachable diffuser. Please note: this will NOT soften the light. This is a function of the size and distance of the light. However, this widens the spread pattern of the light beam, which can be very useful.
