This product really works, I will give it to him. But not for long. Even if I hit it with a rubber mallet, after only two and a half cases of decking, I bent the plank to a virtually unusable state. The metal seemed very strong from the start, but it wasn't. Spacers are ok. The biggest problem with them is that they are wedge shaped and don't stand well on their own. Add to that the fact that they have burrs, which makes it difficult to get the strut in place and even more difficult to dislodge when pressed tightly against the wall. The block works very well. If you're not careful, you can break the sheet piles on the ground (if any) fairly easily. To be honest I'm sorry I didn't purchase this kit. I've found ways to use everything and the quality just isn't essential to doing what it's made for. I think I lost 17 dollars.
