I bought for my £95 lab mix. I like the ability to detach the pockets from the bottom layer which looks like a simple dog coat. Everything looks very well made. The coat itself can still be used to carry a small amount of stuff, while detachable backpacks hold quite a bit. The backpack takes a bit of getting used to for any dog, so I recommend buying one ahead of time if you want your dog to carry it so you can train them to carry it. Just walk them through the workout while they carry the pack - come, sit, stay - until they get used to moving around in it. When I first put this on my Jake he didn't think he could lift his leg to pee until I lifted it up for him and showed him he could still move! In fact, at first he thought he couldn't even walk! It just takes a little patience and with guidance, any dog can learn to carry a backpack. Some dogs, like Jake, prefer a looser pack, and some, like my 50-pound Aussie mix, prefer a tighter pack. The hardest part is getting the same weight on both sides, otherwise the pack will keep pulling in one direction.
